SALVATION
             A.  What is salvation and why is it necessary?

Salvation is the act of saving, preservation or deliverance from destruction, danger, or great calamity. It is the redemption
of mankind from the bondage of sin, the liability of eternal death, and the conferring on mankind of everlasting life with
Jesus Christ. It is necessary because mankind is dead in trespasses and sin and is separated from God.

    B.  Our Problem...Sin and Separation from God

God created us in His own image so we can know Him personally and have a joy-filled relationship with Him. God did not
make us as robots to automatically love, obey and serve Him. He gave us freedom of choice to love, obey and serve him
or not. People have different beliefs about the purpose of life. Some think life is to be lived to have a good time, seek
adventure, make money, help others, exploit others or conquer the world, etc. But, the Bible says, What does it profit a
man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? (Matthew 8:36 &
    37) Regardless of what you think is the purpose of life, death is something we must all face. Since the beginning of time,
we have willingly chosen to disobey God, do our own thing and go our own way. This results in spiritual death and eternal
    separation from God.

  • Adam sinned and brought death into the world. Now everyone has sinned, and everyone must die (Romans 5:12).
  • All of us have sinned and fallen short of God's holiness (Romans 3:23).The result of unforgiven sin is death.

    C.  God’s Remedy - The Cross

There are a myriad of rituals, religions and philosophies addressing sin, God, eternal life. But, what is the truth? Jesus
Christ is the Truth and the only answer our problem of sin and separation from God. He is the only One who can reconcile
us to God. He died on the cross and rose from the grave, paying the penalty for our sin and bridging the gap between God
and people.  The Bible says, For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are
saved it is the power of God. (1Corinthians 1:18) God has provided the only way -- we must make the choice.

  • There is only one God and Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man. (1Timothy 2:5)
  • There is only one way to God and that is through Jesus Christ. He is the only one who can bring us to God. (John
    14:6).
  • Jesus Christ died once for our sins. An innocent person died for those who are guilty. Jesus Christ did this to bring
you to God (1 Peter 3:18).
  • God showed His love for us by having Jesus Christ die for us, even though we were sinful (Romans 5:8).

    D.  Your Choice – Choose Salvation, Choose Life

You only have two choices: 1) Life or 2) Death. Contrary to popular belief you don’t get to walk down the middle of the
road and then choose one or the other. You are automatically on the Death road until you choose Life in Jesus Christ. So,
if you want death nothing is required. You can continue as you are. But, if you want life, you must trust Jesus to forgive
your sins and clothe you with His righteousness. The Bible says: So you will be saved, if you honestly say, Jesus is Lord,
and if you believe with all your heart that God raised Him from the dead. (Romans 10:9-10) if you want to change to the
road leading to Life, is there any good reason why you cannot turn your life over to Jesus Christ right now?  THIS IS THE
MOST IMPORTANT DECISION YOU WILL EVER MAKE. It is as simple as 1,2,3. What do you have to lose?

  1. Admit you are a sinner and ask God for forgiveness.
  2. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the Cross and rose from the grave.
  3. Confess that Jesus Christ is the only way to God, ask him to be Lord of your life, and commit to live your life
    for Him and through Him.
If you decided to choose Life. Welcome to the family of God! The Bible says,
joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repents. (Luke 15:7)
